Understanding AI Visibility
What is AI visibility for small businesses?
AI visibility is how well your business appears when customers ask AI platforms — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Google AI — for recommendations. When someone types "best plumber in Denver" into ChatGPT and your business name appears in the answer, you have strong AI visibility. If a competitor appears instead, or nobody from your industry appears at all, you have an AI visibility gap. This is the new front door of customer acquisition.
How is AI search different from Google search?
Google search returns a list of links ranked by SEO signals and ad spend — you can buy your way to the top. AI search returns a direct, conversational recommendation — one or a few specific businesses, named by the AI based on what it believes is most credible and relevant. AI recommendations cannot be purchased. They are earned through entity establishment, review authority, content clarity, citation breadth, and schema signals. Avikiva™ specializes exclusively in optimizing these AI-specific signals.
Why does AI search matter for my business right now?
Once someone works with AI regularly, they rarely go back to traditional search. Why would they? Google makes you click through dozens of sites, evaluate each one for credibility, cross-reference sources, and form your own conclusion. AI has already downloaded the entire internet into its memory. It gives you the consensus answer, the trusted sources, and a direct recommendation in seconds. The research is done. The vetting is done. The work is done. For your business this means one thing — the channel where customers make decisions is shifting fast, and the businesses that establish their AI visibility now will own that channel in their market for years.
Is AI search replacing Google?
It already is — and Google knows it. That's why they now put an AI-generated answer at the very top of every single search result — above every paid ad, above every SEO-optimized page, above everything. Google is admitting with their own product that the old model of ten blue links is finished. And yet they'll gladly keep charging you for those ads while their own AI answer sits above them, rendering your paid placement invisible. The businesses that wait on AI visibility will pay to catch up, just like the ones who ignored Google in 2005.
Can AI visibility be bought through advertising?
No — and this is the most important distinction. Unlike Google Ads, Yelp, HomeAdvisor, or the Yellow Pages, AI platforms do not sell placement in their recommendations. Nobody pays to be recommended by ChatGPT. The business that appears in an AI answer earned that position through credibility signals — strong reviews, clear service descriptions, consistent directory presence, proper schema markup, and explicit entity establishment. Avikiva™ helps businesses earn that position.
What does "entity establishment" mean?
In AI terminology, an entity is a real-world thing — a business, person, or place — that AI systems recognize as a distinct, verified identity. AI is far more likely to recommend a business it clearly recognizes as a legitimate, well-defined entity. Entity establishment means ensuring your business name, address, phone, services, and credentials are consistently described across every platform AI systems reference — your website, Google Business Profile, directories, reviews, and structured data markup.
What happens to businesses that ignore AI search?
The same thing that happened to businesses that ignored Google in 2005, ignored mobile in 2010, and ignored online reviews in 2015. They didn't disappear overnight — they just slowly became invisible to the customers who had moved on. AI search is not a trend to watch. It is the shift that is already happening. Every day a customer asks AI for what you offer and your business isn't in the answer, that lead goes to someone who is. The question was never whether AI search would matter. The question is whether you'll be positioned for it before or after your competitors are.
The AI Visibility Audit
What is the Vikibility™ Score?
The Vikibility™ Score is Avikiva™'s proprietary AI visibility score — a single number from 0 to 100 that represents how visible and trustworthy your business appears across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI. It is calculated across 60 signals in five dimensions: Entity Establishment, Platform Presence, Content Signals, Authority Signals, and Competitive Position. Each dimension is scored out of approximately 20 points, for a total of 100. A score of 80 or above is where AI platforms begin to consistently recommend your business.
What are the different audit options and what do I get?
Avikiva™ offers two audit tiers. The AI Visibility Audit ($499) delivers your complete Vikibility™ Score plus a prioritized action plan — specific instructions for fixing every gap, ranked by expected score impact — delivered within 1–2 business days. The Full AI Visibility Codex ($1499) is our end-to-end AI visibility solution. This is our flagship product and it's designed to take your business from AI invisibility to credible recognition in the AI space. First, we perform our AI Visibility Audit ($499 value) to identify your website's signal gaps. Then we write the codex (code) to fill gaps contained on your website, publish it in pdf form for you and html form for your web developer — delivered within 3–5 business days. After you or your developer implement the changes and notify us that the work is complete, we run a post AI Visibility Audit ($499 value) and send you the results — delivered within 1–2 business days. Monthly Monitoring ($199/month) is available after any audit purchase. This product updates your AI Visibility Audit ($499 value) to any changes that occur in your AI visibility and updates your score. This is the way to continually increase your score and maintain an edge over your competitors — delivered within 1–2 business days after purchase and then every 30 days — cancel any time before your next 30-day run.
What are the five visibility dimensions in the score?
Avikiva™ scores every business across five dimensions: (1) Entity Establishment — how clearly and consistently AI systems recognize your business as a trusted entity; (2) Platform Presence — whether AI crawlers can find, access, and fully read your website; (3) Content Signals — whether your website content is written in AI-readable language; (4) Authority Signals — how many credible third-party sources validate your business; and (5) Competitive Position — how distinctly you are positioned relative to others in your category.
What is NAP consistency and why does it matter for AI?
NAP stands for Name, Address, Phone — the three core identity signals for any business. AI systems cross-reference your business information across dozens of data sources to verify your identity. If your business name appears as "ABC Plumbing" on Google and "ABC Plumbing Co." on Yelp, or if your phone number differs between platforms, AI treats these as potentially different entities — or flags the business as unreliable. Consistent NAP data across all platforms is one of the highest-impact, lowest-effort fixes we identify in almost every audit.
What is schema markup and does my business need it?
Schema markup (Schema.org) is structured data embedded in your website that explicitly tells AI systems and search engines what your business is, what it does, and who it serves — in machine-readable format. Without schema, AI must interpret your website content and make inferences. With proper LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, and AggregateRating schema, AI can extract your information directly and with confidence. Most small business websites have no schema markup at all — making this one of the highest-impact opportunities we find in audits.
Will you implement the audit recommendations for me?
The AI Visibility Audit, Full AI Visibility Codex, and Monthly Monitoring are advisory, publishing, and reporting services — we provide the complete picture, code, and the precise plan. Implementation of website changes, schema updates, directory submissions, and content creation remains your responsibility or that of your web team. If enough clients request implementation services, Avikiva™ will consider developing that offering — but our core product is the expertise, the audit, the codex, and the roadmap.
Monthly Monitoring
Why do I need monthly monitoring after the audit?
AI platforms continuously update their models, retrieval systems, and weighting algorithms — sometimes weekly. A business that appeared prominently in January may slip in March if a competitor improved their signals, or if an AI model updated how it weights certain data sources. Monthly monitoring catches these shifts early, tracks your Vikibility™ Score over time, and ensures you never go dark in the channel that's increasingly where new customers start their search.
What does the $199/month include exactly?
Monthly monitoring includes: a full re-run of your complete 60-signal Vikibility™ Score every 30 days; and a plain-English Monthly Visibility Summary delivered within 1-2 business days of your monitoring cycle. No jargon. Just the truth about where you stand and what changed.
Can I cancel monthly monitoring at any time?
Yes. Monthly monitoring is month-to-month with no long-term contracts. Cancel anytime by emailing hello@avikiva.com prior to your next run and you won't be billed again. Most clients stay because the alternative — going dark while competitors potentially gain ground — isn't a trade-off worth making for $199 a month. But there is no penalty, no cancellation fee, and no hard sell to stay.
Do I have to do monthly monitoring after the audit?
No. Our audits are complete, standalone products with no obligation to continue. Monthly monitoring is an optional next step for clients who want to maintain and improve their AI visibility over time as the platforms evolve.
Results & Expectations
How quickly will I see results?
AI visibility improvements from implementing the audit's recommendations typically begin appearing within 4–12 weeks, depending on your current baseline score, your industry's competitive landscape, and which specific actions you take. Quick wins — like fixing NAP inconsistencies or adding schema markup — can show results in as little as 2–4 weeks. Content-based improvements typically take longer. We are honest about timelines and make no empty overnight promises.
Can you guarantee I'll appear in AI search results?
No — and any service that makes that guarantee is not being honest with you. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI are independently operated platforms that make their own recommendations based on complex, continuously updated models. We cannot guarantee specific platform outputs, ranking positions, or lead volume. What we can tell you with confidence: the businesses that implement these recommendations consistently improve their Vikibility™ Score and their AI presence over time.
What if my business already shows up in some AI searches?
That's a great starting point — and it means there's more ground to gain. Most businesses that appear in AI search appear inconsistently, or only for a narrow range of queries, or are described vaguely rather than specifically. The goal of our products is not to have you just show up in AI search, but to get your business to a dominant position in your industry and eventually become the default answer.
What if my competitor gets an audit too?
Good. Every business deserves to be visible in AI search — including your competitors. Avikiva™ serves businesses across all industries and all markets without exclusivity arrangements. AI search is not a zero-sum game where one business's gain means another's loss. The entire category of AI search visibility is vastly underutilized. Your job is to reach your own maximum visibility ceiling, independently of what competitors do. That's what we help you do.
Working With Avikiva™
What do you need from me to get started?
Just your website URL. You'll enter it at checkout when you purchase. That's it — no booking calls, no intake forms, no homework. We take it from there. If we need anything else from you to complete a thorough audit, we'll reach out directly. The entire audit process is designed to take as little of your time as possible.
Do I need to understand AI to benefit from this?
Not at all. The entire point of Avikiva™ is to translate a complex, rapidly evolving technical landscape into plain English action.
Do you work with businesses in specific industries only?
No. Avikiva™ serves any small business that depends on being found by new customers — home services, professional services, health and wellness, automotive, real estate, restaurants, retail, nonprofits, churches, schools, and more. If your customers could potentially ask AI for what you offer, AI visibility matters to your business. We serve businesses nationally across all 50 states.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. The Avikiva™ audit is a work product — hours of expert analysis, research, and judgment compressed into a written deliverable. It is not a number you can return or a software license that can be revoked. The same logic an architect uses applies here: once the plans are drawn, the work has been done. The same is true of our audits, codex, and monthly monitoring reports. Each delivered report represents work already performed. Monthly monitoring can be cancelled at any time to stop future charges, but past months are not refundable since the work for those cycles has already been completed and delivered.
Who is Avikiva™ and what makes you qualified?
Avikiva™ was founded by John Basso, an architect and AI practitioner who has built multiple businesses using AI as a primary productivity and strategy tool. Avikiva™ specializes exclusively in AI Visibility Optimization — we don't do SEO, social media, paid ads, or web design. We do one thing, and we've developed one of the most rigorous AI visibility audit standards available to small businesses. We also hold ourselves to that same standard we measure others against — Avikiva™ optimizes its own AI visibility using every principle in our audit and currently has a visibility score hovering around 90, which is the highest score of over 600 businesses we have audited.
